Music has always been a very big passion of mine, and I’m not one to discriminate against various styles, genres, and moods. I will, however, stick pretty solidly to the line from High Fidelity…
“Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable, or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?”
I do not like to be miserable. Therefore, I tend to stray away from what is “pop” these days – notably the gangsta rap that only appeals to suburban white folk, the “R&B” that only makes it to radio because of Auto-Tune, and the teeny-bopper I’m-famous-now-because-my-parents-are-famous-or-because-I-was-on-the-Disney-Channel-before-my-voice-changed “artists.” And yes, I am using the “artist” term very loosely.
Hopefully that clears up any confusion.
