Blogging and the Public Opinion

I love technology. I use it every day. It's provided me efficiency on so many levels. Heck, it's given me a career. It's good stuff. But sometimes? It really does make us stupider. Because we have such immediate access to information, stories and trends can truly become viral, evidenced perfectly by the YouTube phenomenon. But is this really a good thing? And here's where I get to thinking...

Hope and Expectations

I’m currently reading A Million Miles in 1000 Years by Donald Miller, one of my favorite authors.  I’ve also read a couple of his other efforts: Blue Like Jazz and Searching for God Knows What.  I’ve appreciated his down-to-earth, conversational style of writing.  I’m drawn to his sometimes blunt and open-book thought process on life, spirituality, and Christianity.  A Million Miles is about Miller’s venture into filmmaking, offering insight into the writing process and how it translates to real life – and real stories.  Below is a quote that has...

The Start of Something New

Change is gonna come. A line so often used from one of the better songs ever written, but I have really taken a hold onto that ideal as of late. I have a sense – more than I ever have before in my life – that something is about to happen. Something good. This sense has inspired me to take a more consistent approach to social media. It has inspired me to think a little more deeply about why I do what I do, where I spend my time, and how much I value the different things in my life. Good things are happening at home, at work, at church. And I know this is just the beginning. If...
